Private investigator Jim Knighthorse returns in "Easy Rider," a standalone mystery short story!

When Knighthorse discovers a female burglar sleeping in his office, he officially knows his day is off on the wrong foot.

Camry is a woman who knows too much. On the run, she asks for Knighthorse’s protection from her biker ex-boyfriend, Steel Eye, whom she says has murdered someone. Except no one ever leaves this biker gang. Well, alive that is.

Jim Knighthorse might have something to say about that... a lot to say, actually.

As he digs for the truth about the murder, an imminent showdown in the desert looms. There will be action, and there will be blood. A lot of blood. But not even Jim can take on a gang of bikers alone.

Luckily, he has friends in low places.

Easy Rider A Jim Knighthorse Story Short Story edition by JR Rain Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

J.R. Rain delivers another edgy short story starring Jim Knighthorse, private detective, with plenty of the sights, sounds, and smells of bad-ass bikers. The “client” says she witnessed a crime and wants protection from her ex-boyfriend, who’s in a biker gang. She’s got other drama, too, but Jim Knighthorse always protects damsels in distress, even when they aren’t so damsel-y.

Tough in his own right, Knighthorse does an investigation to see what really happened that night and ends up going head to head against bad-tempered biker dudes with their own dangerous agenda.

As always, I enjoyed the character of Jim Knighthorse, who has this dry sense of humor that breaks up the action thriller scenes with a down-to-earth social consciousness and a laugh or two. He’s got a soft spot for the underdog--in this case, a tattooed chick who is a whole lot of trouble.

Knighthorse is a detective who strives beyond his own beefcake impression of himself; he’s got integrity and brains and is always one step ahead of the bad guys. I like him more with every book and story.

EASY RIDER delivers action, thrills, and an offbeat adventure of my favorite male detective. This time, Jim Knighthorse takes the reader with him down into the nitty-gritty truth of biker gang life in Southern California. It’s an eye opener. Five stars for this mystery and recommended. – Eve Paludan

Easy Rider A Jim Knighthorse Story Short Story edition by JR Rain Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I love Jim Knighthorse and I'm a J R Rain fan. That being said, this story has alternate endings and was a fun read but it was more an introductions into the characters in all of his series.
Still, if he he releases a new Knighthorse story, I'll read it.
Can't go wrong with Jim Knighthorse he is such a great character. Trouble just seems to find him and he is the kind of guy that can take care of any situation. If you have not read the other Knighthorse they are a Must read if you like this one.
Once again I have found a good book in this story. I found it hard to put it down until the end.
Sucker for his short stories. I vow not to take them, always do, always read them right through knowing the end will be on the next page. When I do get there I'm always surprised. Always curse. Always look to see if the next one is there or was their a prior one. Now after reading this if you done read the story.... Shame on ya!
This is short story--a very short story. I knew that when I bought it. But, having just finished Clean Slate, the last book in the series, I was craving more Jim Knighthorse. This short story just doesn't develop like the books in the Knighthorse series. And, it doesn't effectively introduce the Jim Knighthorse character to new readers. By introducing the author's other main characters, the ending is more like a promotion for the author's other books. Hey, that's cool, as I've read and enjoyed some of the author's other books. But, this should have been a free book. J.R. give us the next Knighthorse book!
J.R. Rain delivers again. This story had me laughing by the end of the second sentence and remembering why I love Jim Knighthorse before the end of the first page. It is a great read and I won't ruin it for you by giving away any spoilers. I will say that I very much preferred the original ending to the alternative ending, and I think that many of his readers might agree.
Easy Rider is another great addition to the Jim Knighthorse saga. This time Jim is trying to protect a woman who supposedly witnessed a murder by her boyfriend, who happens to be the leader of a motorcycle gang. As Jim furthers his investigation he finds things are not as they first seem. With the help of a few friends Jim confronts the gang in their own territory. Jim's friends also happen to be the protagonists of J. R. Rain's other series, all together in one place; a nice touch.
Definitely worth the read. I can't wait for the next installment, "Night Run."
